Branded Content for Maserati. From luxury sports cars to delicious gourmet food, Italians are true artisans in their crafts. But you don’t need to hop on a plane to Bologna to experience the best that Italy has to offer. The spirit and culture of Italy is alive in the UK – as long as you know where to look for it. Renowned Italian chef Francesco Mazzei has been on a mission to find the best ingredients from around the UK to make the perfect three course Italian meal. After the primi and secondi comes the dolce. And for this gourmet course, Mazzei is serving up baked English plums with espuma – a mousse made with English blue cheese and Italian mascarpone. To source the very best creamy buffalo cheese for his sweet dessert, Mazzei travels to Laverstoke Park on Overton, Hampshire.

This film is a poetic fluid statement weaving together the chronological story of the most amazing cars that McLaren has built. The spanner, a timeless metaphor for the mechanic, is first picked up by the brilliant engineer/constructor/driver, Bruce McLaren, in the late 60s. It is passed like a baton through the decades, even after his tragic death, to the present day, connecting the most incredible moments and iconic drivers in the history of Formula 1. Working with these immaculately preserved, priceless works of art was a thrill and a privilege. To be able to use the original cars in this way created a unique and beautiful narrative that celebrates McLaren’s 50th Anniversary in the sport of F1.
